Overview
The National Center for Health Statistics Data Linkage Program links National Hospital Care Survey (NHCS) data with data from other agencies. NHCS restricted-use data is linked to administrative data from the (HUD).
Linked records include up to three years of administrative housing data from HUD's largest housing assistance programs, such as—
- Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program
- Public housing (PH)
- Privately owned, subsidized multifamily housing (MF)
Linked data support research studies, including those examining the complex relationship between housing and health.
Restricted-use
Restricted-use linked NHCS–HUD data can be accessed only through the National Center for Health Statistics Research Data Center (RDC) network for approved research projects.
