Overview
The National Center for Health Statistics Data Linkage Program links survey data with data from other agencies. The restricted-use data from the National Hospital Care Survey (NHCS) is linked with data with (T-MSIS) enrollment and claims data to expand research opportunities. Such studies focus on patient health outcomes and the association of government insurance programs with health and health outcomes.
Medicaid claims data are available for NHCS patient records where the National Center for Health Statistics could match with T-MSIS enrollment records. CMS provided Medicaid T-MSIS claims data for all successfully matched patient records.
The 2016 NHCS links T-MSIS claims data from January 1, 2015, through December 31, 2017.
Restricted-use
Restricted-use linked 2015–2017 CMS Medicaid data can be accessed only through the National Center for Health Statistics Research Data Center (RDC) network for approved research projects.
