  • Accelerate outbreak detection and response to swiftly contain global diseases that threaten the health, safety, and prosperity of Americans.
  • Build and enhance the capacities of regional and national public health systems and institutions to prevent, prepare for, and respond to disease threats and other public health emergencies.
  • Strengthen, expand, and lead global health partnerships to promote innovation and more efficiently prevent and respond to disease outbreaks and other public health emergencies.

Benjamin Park, M.D., Director

Dr. Park is Director of the Division of Global Health Protection. In this position, he leads the CDC group that protects Americans from global health threats by strengthening public health systems abroad.
